About Florence May
My name is Florence and I’m passionate about teaching practical French that you will be able to use in conversation. Having grown up in rural France, I can enhance your understanding of the language by explaining context, and widening your grasp beyond a piece of paper!
I'm a bubbly and kind person with excellent skills in teaching children and adults, with everyday conversational skills and GCSE based lessons.
As a professional ballet dancer, I understand the importance of speaking multiple languages for work, but I also highly value bridging gaps in communities by improving language skills.
I also have a DBS check.

My lessons are tailored to your needs, as we will discuss what you want to cover before beginning classes. We will work together to sharpen your skills, enhance your knowledge and understand details. I’m supportive, approachable, and always up for a good conversation. If you’re struggling with feeling confident in your skills, I’m here to help!
For young children, we will approach language learning through song, art and books. I believe that creating a fun environment to learn and building tutor/student trust will improve learning and lessons.
For adults and GCSE based classes, we will discuss what has been effective for you in the past and tailor the lessons to your learning style and needs. As a university graduate aged 20, I have tools we can use to effectively pick up the language, beyond constant essay writing and memorisation.
