About Callie
I’m an English tutor with more than 6 years of experience and a Bachelor of Arts in English and Cultural Studies. My teaching philosophy is simple: language learning should connect to real life. I design lessons that combine English practice with exploration of global topics.
Students work with news stories, documentaries, and modern journalism. These materials help build vocabulary and comprehension while introducing meaningful discussions. We also explore how different media outlets present information.
Understanding bias and perspective is an important part of my classes. I guide students through discussions about journalistic ethics and responsible storytelling. These conversations help learners develop both language confidence and critical thinking skills.

My teaching style focuses on learning English through topics that spark imagination and enthusiasm. Food is a wonderful subject because it connects people, cultures, and stories. In my classes, students learn vocabulary about ingredients, cooking tools, and different cuisines.
We often talk about recipes and cooking steps. These conversations help students practise giving clear instructions and describing actions. It’s a simple and effective way to build confidence in speaking.
Students also practise practical situations like ordering meals, reading restaurant menus, and asking about ingredients. These skills are especially helpful for those who enjoy travelling or exploring international cuisine.
I encourage learners to describe food using vivid language about taste, texture, aroma, and appearance. Lessons are interactive and enjoyable. My goal is to help students speak naturally while exploring something delicious. Together we will turn English practice into a flavourful and inspiring journey.
