About Cillian
I am an enthusiastic Saxophone tutor with 11 years of teaching experience, and I have successfully taught around 150 students from beginners to advanced learners. I believe a friendly learning environment leads to better results.
My tutoring approach is friendly, motivating, and well-organised. I focus on essential skills such as posture, breathing, tone quality, finger coordination, and rhythm accuracy. I encourage students to ask questions and enjoy the learning process.
Lessons are interactive and easy to understand. I also guide students on effective practice habits so they can improve consistently.
My unique skill is my ability to create a positive and encouraging learning space, helping students feel confident and excited about playing the saxophone.

My saxophone teaching methodology is student-focused and emphasises flexibility, collaboration, and positivity. I understand that every learner is unique, so I design lessons to match their learning style, pace, and goals using demonstration, listening exercises, and hands-on practice.
Flexibility ensures lessons evolve according to progress, motivation, and interests, keeping learning productive, inspiring, and enjoyable. Collaboration encourages students to actively participate, experiment with improvisation, and share ideas, building both confidence and creativity.
I foster a positive and supportive environment where achievements are celebrated and challenges are embraced as learning opportunities. Lessons cover saxophone technique, musical expression, improvisation, performance skills, and theory, providing a well-rounded foundation.
Beyond saxophone, I teach music theory, sight-reading, ear training, and ensemble performance. My aim is to nurture confident, expressive musicians with a lifelong love for music.
