About Sael
I have been playing violin for 20 years. I was trained classically and in the Suzuki method for 12 years and now perform as a folk violinist for local indie bands. This means that I offer a unique blend of creativity and structure in my teaching style. I also have a background in dance & theater and I bring body-awareness into my teaching approach as well.

First and foremost, I believe making music should be fun! For me, music is about creative expression and connecting to each other. I am here to help guide you in learning your instrument in whatever you are excited about: whether it be fiddle music, pop songs, Bach or improvising! Whatever your musical dream is, I am here to support you and share my experience and expertise. My goal as your teacher is to help give you the tools so you feel confident to continue learning on your own (when you no longer need me, I know I have done my job!).

I have been taking violin lessons from Tess for a few months now and simply love it! Tess has a unique way of teaching and constantly comes up with creative exercises to tackle a particular part of the music that I'm struggling with or to improve my posture to decrease any tensions in my hands, neck, and shoulders. She constantly provides helpful information on a new piece and records our lessons so I can always go back and watch it again.
