About Jiya
I am an enthusiastic mathematics tutor with over five years of experience and a strong academic foundation in Actuarial Science at the MSc level. My teaching is guided by a passion for uncovering the beauty of problem-solving. Directing problem-solving workshops has given me opportunities to inspire students to think beyond the textbook. Coaching mathematics competitions has been particularly fulfilling, as it allows me to guide talented students in high-level reasoning. I value the skills of critical thinking and logical deduction above quick memorization. Creative problem-solving techniques are at the heart of my lessons. I place emphasis on number theory, where students learn to recognize deep structures within mathematics. Problem analysis is taught not as a method, but as an attitude toward approaching challenges. I have had the privilege of mentoring gifted learners who thrive on rigorous exploration. Aspiring mathematicians find in my sessions an outlet for their curiosity and determination. My goal is to help every student see themselves as capable of deep reasoning. I believe math builds resilience as much as it builds knowledge.
