About Faye
I'm a Philosopher at heart and at the centre of my tutoring is the wonderful conversation I have with my students, whether I am teaching Philosophy or English, it is the way I know students learn the best. I have loved being in education for over 24 years, as a Head of department, teacher and senior examiner. Yet, it was when I started doing online revision sessions for my students that I felt I could really make a difference on an individual level. My teaching is based on a personal approach, as every student learns differently. I quickly get to know where a person feels worried about a topic or skill, and find a solution to allow them to feel confident and capable to answer any exam question. I know that students succeed when they understand how to analyse and evaluate the content, and that learning by rote will never achieve the higher levels. My students are thinkers who will enjoy learning for life. I am proud of every success I have been a part of.

I believe the most important learning happens through discussion and engaging in thought-provoking questions. My students learn content through analysis and evaluation. They succeed because they know why a Philosophical argument works or not, and can justify the position they hold. My students are taught to become their own independent thinkers, and I have a proven track record of high exam results as a Head of Department. I teach for success both in the exam, but also when becoming lifelong learners. I teach all age ranges hourly online lessons, and my more than 24 years' experience in education and examining means I can upskill learners in exactly what an examiner wants to see for those higher levels. They get into the head of what an examiner is actually looking for. My specialist subjects are Philosophy and English.
