Chris has tutored both of my children at GCSE and A level and I cannot recommend him highly enough. After moving from Canada we discovered there were significant gaps in their understanding of math due to the different curriculum and methodologies. Under Chris’ tutelage both of my children have gained in confidence and were able to achieve amazing results. My youngest son’s success at GCSE was such that the head of his Math’s department said he had never had another student make such progress (he went from a grade 6/7 to a 9 in Maths and a 4/5 to an 8 in Further Maths). Chris has continued to teach him during A levels and he just achieved an A in his mock exam.

He not only explains and teaches in a very clear and methodical way, but he is also extremely flexible and will go out of his way to accommodate if last minute tutoring is required prior to an exam. He even recently made time in his schedule to help my oldest son with some concepts that he required for his university assessments.

Both of my son’s say that he is the best math’s teacher that they have ever had and I too could only ever wholeheartedly recommend him.

I credit much of my academic success to Chris's support during a challenging transition period, which ultimately led to me securing a place at the University of Bath. Having just moved from Canada to take A Levels, I found that there were numerous preliminary knowledge gaps causing me to quickly fall behind. Chris was able to teach and strengthen these concepts, quickly bringing me up to par and further beyond in-class expectations. His teaching style is clear and he makes even the most difficult concepts easy to understand.

Moreover, his availability and flexibility meant I always had a helping hand when I was struggling. Even during my university career, he was able to assist with A Level statistical concepts I had forgotten which were necessary for an upcoming exam. I received a high 2:1 in that module exam, undoubtably thanks to Chris's continued support.

Chris Tanton has talked about different parts of the
bible on around 10 occasions. He is always well prepared, clear in his
delivery and very easy to listen to and understand.

Mr.Tanton was my daughter's tutor for GCSE and we know him to be a very committed teacher doing the best for his students. His GCSE pupils have been inspired to take up maths on for A levels, thanks to his teaching!
My son who is in year 9 now is tutored by him and totally gets the topic when taught by Mr.Tanton. He makes a child understand concepts by simplifying them. When my son does not understand what was taught in school, Mr Tanton goes through them at a slow pace to ensure understanding.
