Beyond my goal of helping you achieve success within your courses, I also aim to establish a professional relationship with you based on trust and confidence. I understand how frustrating biology can be especially as you move up the academic ladder, and there is no need to go about it alone. My primary style of teaching is the Socratic method in which I encourage my students to come to the correct conclusions on their own through carefully guided questioning based strictly on the student's individual level of understanding of the subject at hand.
I often also use relevant metaphors and the creation of "stories" in order to help difficult information flow together and "stick" within the mind of the student in such a way that makes uniquely sense to them.
My target audience are advanced high school students and or biology undergraduates. However, I am open to graduate students as well.
