About Matthew
I am a young and passionate part-time tutor who is currently living in Leeds and looking for teaching work in the Netherlands. I have previously lived in the Netherlands, and have a real love for the Dutch language and culture! I speak Dutch to a fluent level, and obtained the first of my state-approved NT2 (Dutch as a second language) qualifications, in speaking, late last year. I have previous language tutoring experience, tutoring individuals and larger groups in both Dutch and English, and have always enjoyed the teaching experience immensely. If I were teaching individually I would certainly try to adapt to my student's favourite style of learning, but in general I design my lessons to be full of different activities and student participation, rather than simply reading from a PowerPoint or textbook. My favourite teachers throughout my life have been the ones who really engage with their students in a relaxed and personal way, and this is the style of teaching that I wish to emulate in my own tutoring.
