About Destiny
Hi, I’m Destiny! I’m a former classroom teacher with 7 years of tutoring experience. I’ve taught kindergarten and middle school and now work with students from elementary through high school.
A large part of my tutoring work is with elementary students who need support in reading and writing. I also work with advanced students who are ready for more challenging material.
I enjoy getting to know each student and figuring out what works for them. I’m patient, organized, and always willing to explain something a different way when it isn’t clicking. I also keep parents updated on what we’re working on and how their student is progressing.

Reading and writing sessions are built around what your student actually needs. We may work on reading comprehension, vocabulary, spelling, sentence structure, paragraph writing, or more advanced reading and writing skills.
I use stories, games, visuals, writing activities, and guided practice to keep lessons engaging. For students I work with regularly, I set individual goals and track their progress so our lessons continue to grow with them.
My goal is to help students understand what they're learning while becoming more confident and independent readers and writers.

Destiny is a very well organized English tutor for my 3rd grade boy. She is patient and experienced. She sends out regular progress updates and they are very useful to know the improvements.
Destiny has been an absolute revelation with my child. He is incredibly excited to go work with her and his parents. It is amazing to see the progress as well as have some structure to be able to work with him at home.
We saw an instant improvement in how he was approaching his math and spelling, and it made it much easier for us as a family to work on it together.Destiny helped my child to develop her writing skills. Before she would not want to write at all. Now she can write 20+ minutes uninterrupted. She has improved her writing skills in school. She makes learning fun and my child wants to go to her lessons!
