About Reanna
I am a former Title 1 Math teacher, I love teaching and am excited to help you with any math help you might need. I am available Monday - Friday by appointment only and I am not available for communication or tutoring on Saturday or Sunday. I value your time as well as mine when it comes to a tutoring session. I will expect you to have current work ready to be worked on and a clear goal in mind for seeking services. If you have a test or upcoming assignment that you are wanting help with, I will need to know the date of the assignment so that I can help you properly plan for study time on that specific standard. If you don't have a goal yet, that is ok; we can plan a time to go over any math concerns that you might have. If it is in your foundational math skills (kindergarten-4th), I will help you find any gaps your student might have if you suspect that there is something that your student is not fully understanding but can't figure out why.

I specialize in helping students on many different levels understand math by breaking down the foundation of what they are doing. For example: Multiplication, not just memorizing 2X4=8 but knowing what each number represents 2 (number of groups) X 4 (number of items in each group) = 8 (total number of items). This can be shown by drawing it out or mapping it out with objects so that your student can do any equation rather than just memorizing numbers. This was a great method used with my 3rd-5th graders, helping them to understand what they were doing rather than them feeling expected to just know it after writing it down or being told.
