About Shane
I have taught guitar since 2000. By 2005 I had over 40 students per week. Many of my guitar students have gone on to be in performing bands in the Tampa Bay area. My students focus on learning how to solo in a rock and metal style. I have played in rock and metal bands since high school in the late 80's, having toured Europe as a member of Jon Oliva's Pain (former Savatage vocalist and co-founder of Trans-Siberian Orchestra), Circle II Circle (featuring Zak Stevens, also former Savatage vocalist and TSO member), Millenium (featured guitar wizard Ralph Santolla) and my first original band TEER. I have also recorded with these bands and have contributed solos to other artists and bands.

I am an aggressive player that teaches things many guitar instructors miss, like feel and vibrato. Speed and technique are great to have but without good vibrato and a solid emotional feel even the best solo can fall flat. I can teach many levels, from near beginner to advanced. I base my tutoring on the student's abilities, trying to correct things in their technique that may be holding them back. I also love to teach scales and sequences based on the scales to form melodic solos.

Shane French is an amazing and dedicated guitar instructor. Being privileged enough to be recieve lessons from Shane has been a dream of many aspiring guitarists for years and has always required a long waiting lk list. It takes someone who loves music and specifically guitars to know what is needed to be successful and accomplished. If that is the end result you are searching for in an instructor, then you have reached your goal.

One of the greatest guitar players I have ever seen This is a love and passion for Shane. He is very professional honest and when it comes to teaching for him it's not teaching it's sharing his love and creating difference for others. He is one of the greatest people you will ever know This dude cares and he loves and ROCKS because of it. You won't go wrong.
