About Linda
I am a former university Economics lecturer with five years of teaching experience, from first-year through to final-year level. I have also supervised Honours and Master’s students in Economics.
I am currently taking a break from full-time lecturing while completing my PhD in Economics, focusing on international trade and the cultural and creative industries.
I genuinely enjoy teaching, particularly helping students make sense of difficult concepts, reduce anxiety around challenging subjects and build confidence in their own ability.

My approach is to make difficult subjects feel simpler, less intimidating and more enjoyable. I focus on helping students understand the logic behind the work rather than simply memorising formulae or definitions.
A typical lesson is tailored to what you need most — whether that is working through difficult concepts, practising calculations, preparing for a test or exam, or improving your understanding of an assignment or research topic. I explain concepts step by step and adjust the pace and level of detail to suit the student.
I teach primarily in English and can also assist students in Afrikaans.
My lessons are aimed mainly at university students. I tutor Economics from first-year to postgraduate level, as well as first-year Accounting and undergraduate Finance and Investment. I also assist Honours and Master’s Economics students with research, methodology and interpreting results.
My goal is not only to improve marks, but to build confidence and reduce the anxiety that often comes with Economics and quantitative subjects.
