About Jianjiao
I am a PhD scientist, former Yale University postdoctoral fellow, and experienced educator with an interdisciplinary background in computer science, biomedical research, bioinformatics, data science, and artificial intelligence. My postdoctoral research and training included Yale University, Georgia Tech, the University of Miami, and the University of Pittsburgh. I later worked at the University of Pittsburgh as a Research Scientist and Senior Data Scientist, applying computational and data-driven approaches to complex biomedical research problems.
I have extensive experience teaching, mentoring, and supporting students, researchers, and professionals. I also completed Georgia Tech’s Teaching and Learning in Higher Education Course for Postdoctoral Scholars and hold a teaching qualification. As a native Mandarin Chinese speaker, I teach Mandarin Chinese and Chinese communication in addition to STEM, data, AI, research, and career development. I especially enjoy helping learners connect education with skills, research, career opportunities, employment, leadership, and entrepreneurship.
I believe education should do more than help someone pass a course or solve one immediate problem. My goal is to help learners develop the knowledge, confidence, critical thinking, communication skills, and long-term direction they need to succeed academically, professionally, and beyond.

My lessons are personalized, practical, and goal-oriented. I work with high school, college, and graduate students, researchers, and professionals in data science, AI, bioinformatics, biostatistics, research, career development, and Mandarin Chinese. I begin by understanding each learner’s background, goals, and challenges, then create a tailored learning path that connects knowledge with real-world applications. Rather than simply providing answers, I help learners develop critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, and independent learning skills. For students and professionals seeking broader development, I also connect academic learning and technical skills with research opportunities, career planning, interview preparation, employment, leadership, and entrepreneurship.
