About Lin
With more than 5 years of experience, I am an experienced Flute instructor teaching School students, College students, and working professionals. I believe flute learning should be simple, practical, and enjoyable for every student.
My tutoring style is student-focused and organised. I begin with basics such as breath control, finger coordination, posture, and tone development. As students improve, I introduce scales, rhythm exercises, and musical pieces to enhance expression and confidence.
I value open communication and regular guidance. I explain techniques clearly and encourage students to ask questions. Accountability is ensured through practice routines and progress checks. Integrity guides my teaching, and I always provide honest and constructive feedback.
In addition to flute training, I also teach music theory, sight reading, rhythm training, and performance preparation. I help students prepare for exams, recitals, and auditions.
My unique skill is creating customised lesson plans for learners of different ages and skill levels. I aim to provide a supportive and motivating environment where students can enjoy learning and achieve steady progress.

My flute teaching methodology is centred on Communication, Creativity, and Flexibility, offering students a personalised and enriching learning experience. I begin by understanding each student’s goals, experience level, and learning style. Clear communication is key—I explain techniques such as breath control, posture, articulation, and finger positioning in simple, step-by-step ways to ensure students grasp concepts quickly and confidently.
Creativity is woven into every lesson. I encourage students to explore different musical genres, experiment with improvisation, and create their own interpretations of pieces. This approach not only develops technical skills but also helps students discover their unique musical voice. Flexibility is another cornerstone of my teaching—I adapt lessons based on the student’s pace, challenges, and interests, ensuring every session is engaging and effective.
In addition to flute playing, I incorporate music theory, rhythm practice, ear training, and sight-reading exercises to build comprehensive musicianship. My methodology ensures students gain technical mastery, musical expressiveness, and confidence, while nurturing a lifelong passion for music and performance.
