About Mary
My extensive training in literacy and social-emotional development means that I'm skilled in teaching your child to read and write, but I'll also support their emotional needs along the way. My approach is relational, positive, silly, and 100% research-based.
I'm certified in all elementary subjects with additional GT (gifted and talented) and ESL (english as a second language) endorsements. I taught Pre-K, kindergarten, 1st grade, and 4th grade in Texas for 8 years. Now, I virtually tutor students K-5 full time.

I'm Ms. Davis. I'm a passionate, creative, and intentional educator. I have 10+ years experience and truly love teaching and connecting with kids.
I specialize in teaching young children to read and write. I also love supporting older learners, especially children with dyslexia, who are working hard to strengthen foundational skills. I utilize explicit phonics instruction based in the science of reading.
One of my strengths as an educator is my commitment to supporting and educating the whole child. I regularly integrate social and emotional learning and believe that learning to be a kind and confident person is as important as learning to read and write. Teaching is so much more than delivering content, it's supporting learners in becoming the best versions of themselves!
