The teaching method I use is, I start from the known which is everyday knowledge and try to integrate that with the unknown which is the formal/school knowledge. In that way I feel it helps my learners to know bizarre concepts that maybe be understood better when making comparisons to the real world and bringing that to understand difficult concepts.
