About Vicky
I'm Vicky and I was a French and German teacher and then more recently I have been a Pastoral Manager. I am really keen to tutor online now, as I have seen first hand through my own daughter, what a difference this can make. Whether it is extra help for someone who is struggling with the subject, whether it is someone who is trying to push themselves to reach the best grades or whether it is someone who is home schooled, I will be happy to help you to reach your own potential.

I have 15 years experience of teaching French and German and have taught in primary and secondary schools. I also have just over 5 years of being a Pastoral Manager, so I know that children learn best when they are enjoying what they do and are happy. My lessons are usually for 1 hour and I like them to be interactive, with a variety of activities so that it keeps interest levels high. I combine listening, speaking, reading and writing activities but will obviously tailor lessons to each student's needs. I know that many people worry about getting things wrong, but I would much rather you have a go and make a mistake, than not try at all. We all make mistakes sometimes and that is how we learn. I love playing games and doing puzzles with students, as they are a great way of checking understanding, without being too formal or scary. When learning a language, repetition is key and I don't mind finding lots of different ways to explain the same thing if you are having trouble understanding something. I will be happy to help you to get there in the end. I feel that learning a language is so important, as it also contains many transferable skills - communication, working with others, being able to identify key information and perseverance to name a few. In my opinion language learning should be fun and I hope my enthusiasm comes across. I can't wait to help you to feel more confident in French, no matter what level you have started off at!
