About Tom
I am a Modern languages student at the University of Cardiff studying joint honours of French and Translation. I have been studying French for formally for 10 years, studying the language is a big passion of mine that has enabled me to develop high-level linguistic skills. Last year I spent five months living and working in France which developed my understanding of the language an culture so that I am now a highly skilled linguist. With regards to qualifications, I obtained an A in both Italian and French at A- level and an A star at GCSE in french so I know how what is needed to pass exams. Although I have no formal teaching qualification, I have previously helped friends and family of all ages with French and Italian learning and exams. I firmly believe that we are all a part of a developing multilingual society, which is why I want to offer my abilities as a modern languages student and enthusiast to help you reach your linguistic goals.

My teaching style is relaxed but effective, I make sure I fully understand the needs of the student in order for them to reach their full potential. Understanding Grammar is imperative when learning a new language so I put a real emphasis on making sure my student's grammar is efficient before exploring deeper into the language. However, I also think speaking the language as much as possible is equally as important for personal development and confidence.
