About Shamiah
I received my bachelor's degree in French, and spent part of my time in undergrad studying and living in the south of France. I then received a Master's in the Art of Teaching, where I learned more about education and how to be an effective teacher. I have been a French teacher for the last 9 years and have taught both middle and high school. I have even been selected to present professional development to other language teachers at the Southern Conference of Language Teaching two years in a row.

Research supports that language acquisition occurs when someone is exposed to compelling and comprehensible language. With that research in mind, I provide lots of language that is interesting and I ensure that you are able to understand every word. I ensure understanding through visuals, gestures, facial expressions and more. We will read stories that are interesting to you, find francophone music that you WANT to listen to and learn the words for, and just immerse you in the language in the way that you can understand and leaves you wanting more.
