About Michelle
I studied French with linguistics at the University of Manchester, graduating in 1995 with a 2(1).
For nearly 25 years, I worked in offices in London, Bristol and Brussels as a personal assistant and in marketing, before deciding to become a teacher and proofreader/editor full-time. I have a Cambridge CELTA diploma and 10 years' experience teaching adults and children at all levels.
I moved to Brussels, Belgium in the year 2000 and speak fluent French. I have also been learning Dutch for the past couple of years, which has given me a renewed understanding and empathy for people learning a foreign language!
In my spare time, I sing jazz and acoustic music and enjoy photography, painting and reading.

Hello!
I'm Michelle, a qualified Cambridge CELTA teacher since 2013. I have a degree in French Studies with linguistics, am originally from London and have lived in Brussels, Belgium since the year 2000. As well as being an experienced teacher, I am friendly, kind, patient and empathic.
I teach two types of classes: Helping teenagers to understand what they’re learning in French classes at school, and conversation lessons with adults. When I work with school-age students, I don't do their homework for them...Rather, we look at the topic they’re studying and work around it, helping the student to understand better, to grow in confidence and ability, and hopefully to enjoy learning French!
Most importantly, we would have an online meeting before classes begin, and I always send two short questionnaires to find out more about your aims, needs and current level. This guarantees entirely personalised lessons.
As I live in Belgium, classes are online. If you're unfamiliar with online classes, we can go through the setting-up process together. I use Skype, Zoom or Google Meet, all of which are entirely free for my students.
