About Rokaya
For the past 30 years I have promoted the French language by having conversations with French speakers, by teaching students of all ages in Washington DC and in Florida. I volunteered as a French teacher in Stuart, Florida at a local church. The classes were weekly, a total of 10 to 12 students variable age group with a common interest: French! The Monday Chat written so eloquently by Joe Crankshaw in the Stuart News describes me as a French interpreter and teacher volunteering for a wonderful cause. My hope is that learning to appreciate other cultures realizing are a mixture of other cultures is what makes America a great country.

I am a French native speaker who strongly believes in the benefits of speaking more than one language. The French language is fascinating. While traveling to France or to the many French-speaking countries, the way to experience, enjoy, and create beautiful memories is to have a curious mind. A desire to learn about other cultures and traditions will indeed broaden your horizons. Whether you are a beginner, an intermediate, or an advanced student, communicating is an essential tool. Having an accent when you speak French is actually endearing. Native speakers appreciate the fact that the visitor is trying to learn their language and will in any way they can help. My goal in teaching French is to encourage and inspire the student to communicate with ease and to discover the beauty of the French language. Customized lessons, music, magazines, websites, dining in a French café, having coffee and pastries are some of the activities I plan meticulously with my student. For the advanced students who are passionate about French literature, choosing a particular author, discussing a novel, writing essays represent some of the many activities I organize to pique their interest. The ultimate as a teacher is to witness the student's transformation by emphasizing the positive impact of learning another language.
