About Faye
I have had success in Biology throughout my education, achieving an 8 at GCSE, an A in A Level, and a First Class Honours degree from the University of Surrey at undergrad. During my undergrad, I was awarded the Royal Society of Biology Top Project Prize, for achieving the highest mark in my cohort for my research project. I have also recently completed my master's degree in Biological Sciences at Royal Holloway, University of London, and am currently applying for PhDs in molecular and cell biology. I am extremely passionate about biology and have experience conveying complex scientific concepts to audiences of mixed expertise. I have had success in numerous presentations during my university education, demonstrating my ability to present complex ideas in a clear and concise manner. While I have no previous experience tutoring, I am excited to help students understand their biology curriculum and hopefully inspire the same passion for the subject I have developed over my academic journey. I have experience assisting swim teachers and I am a kind, friendly and patient person. I am currently working in a school as a Science Technician, DBS checked.

My approach to tutoring is flexible and can be structured based on the needs of the student. I study the specifications of the exam board to make sure the student is learning exactly what is required of them for the exam. I provide a structured lesson in which I teach the theory of a chosen topic. This can be selected by the student based on particular areas they are struggling with, or we can work through the curriculum. I will prepare material before the lesson to support my explanation. I will also incorporate regular quizzes and recap questions to consolidate what we have covered, and we can also work through past exam questions to improve exam technique.
