About Heather
Hi! My name is Heather and I’m an experienced online English tutor with a First Class degree in English Literature and a Level 5 TEFL Certificate. I have taught students from age 5-35, with success in helping students prepare for their IELTS exams and university admissions, including Cambridge. I have been teaching online for 6 years and I also have experience supporting students with special educational needs.

I believe that learning should be fun and tailored to the student. I personalise all my lessons to each student’s individual interests and needs. For some of my students, this means structured classes with reading comprehension, creative writing practice and games. For others, it means mock tests or grammar practice, whilst some learners prefer more relaxed, conversational practice. Once I understand what my student’s goals and needs are, I plan my lessons around them. I am kind and patient and my students often comment about how much they enjoy our sessions and how comfortable they feel with me as their tutor.
