About Dominic
I am a friendly, patient and supportive tutor who is passionate about helping students improve their understanding, confidence and academic performance. Having achieved straight Grade 9s at GCSE, I understand the level of knowledge, exam technique and preparation needed to achieve excellent results.
I offer tutoring in Maths, Spanish, French, PE and Combined Science. As I have recently completed my GCSEs, I am accustomed to the current GCSE specifications and exam requirements, allowing me to provide relevant support and help students focus on the topics and skills they need.
I understand that every student learns differently, so I adapt my teaching style to suit their individual needs, ability and preferred pace of learning. I believe that students learn best when they feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes, so I aim to create a positive and supportive environment in every lesson.
For students preparing for GCSEs, I can focus on difficult topics, exam technique, practice questions and building confidence ahead of assessments. My goal is not simply to help students memorise answers, but to help them properly understand the content so they can apply their knowledge independently.

I like to make every session personalised to the individual student rather than using exactly the same approach for everyone.
At the beginning of a lesson, I usually spend some time reviewing previous topics and identifying anything the student may still be unsure about. We then move on to the main focus of the session, where I explain the content clearly, break down more difficult concepts and work through examples together.
The student will then have the opportunity to practise independently, with support and guidance whenever needed. For GCSE students, I can include current specification content, exam-style questions and exam technique to help them become familiar with the style of questions they may face.
Lessons can be adapted depending on the student's needs. If they are struggling with a particular topic, we can slow down and work through it step by step. If they are progressing quickly, I can introduce more challenging questions to push their understanding further.
Whether a student needs extra support, wants to improve their grades or is aiming for the highest possible results, I aim to make every lesson productive, encouraging and tailored specifically to them.
