About Verity
As an English teacher in Thailand, I taught eighteen classes of secondary-aged students. I quickly established a rapport with pupils, teachers and other members of the school staff, and was commended for my ability to establish caring and constructive relationships with each student. I was responsible for assisting with the development of learning materials, for providing feedback to pupils in relation to progress and achievement, and for mapping out learning strategies for each pupil.
Once I moved back to the UK, I spent several months tutoring Chinese students in English through an online teaching platform. I then began working for Vibe Education, which has given me the opportunity to work at various primary, secondary, and SEN schools throughout London. Most recently, I taught at Southfields Academy, where I gave academic and pastoral support to partially deaf students - many of whom were studying for their GCSEs. Instructing pupils on a one to one basis, and in small groups, I was able to develop real and productive relationships with the children under my tutelage. I am proud to say that many passed their exams with flying colours!
