About Kim
Hi, I’m Kim, a friendly and patient tutor offering Maths and English support for primary school children.
As a mum of two young children, I understand how important it is for children to feel comfortable, supported and confident when learning. My aim is to create a calm and encouraging environment where children feel happy to ask questions and work through challenges at their own pace.
I particularly enjoy helping children who may feel a little unsure about schoolwork or who need extra support to build confidence in their abilities.
Whether your child needs help with maths skills, reading, writing, or general schoolwork, I aim to make learning feel positive and achievable.

My lessons are designed to be supportive, engaging and tailored to each child’s individual needs. I focus on helping children feel comfortable asking questions and building their confidence in both Maths and English.
At the start of tutoring, I like to understand what areas a child may be struggling with and what they are currently learning at school. From there, I plan lessons that reinforce key skills while making learning feel manageable and positive.
Each session may include a mix of:
• practising core maths or English skills
• working through questions together step by step
• fun activities or exercises to reinforce understanding
• gentle guidance to help build confidence and independent thinking
I aim to create a calm and encouraging learning environment where children feel supported and motivated. My goal is not only to improve academic understanding but also to help children develop a more positive attitude towards learning.
Lessons can be adapted depending on the child’s age, ability and goals, whether that’s improving general skills, catching up in class topics, or building confidence in reading, writing or maths.
