My personal approach to teaching music involves making sure that the lessons are heading in the direction you want them to. Music is such a multi-faceted area and there are many potential avenues to explore. I want to work with what you are genuinely interested in so that your passion for your instrument continues to grow alongside your learning.
I specialise in teaching adults, but am also very happy to teach young people. I am best when teaching beginner and intermediate players as my speciality lies in laying the theoretical foundations of music.
I like to try and introduce improvisation and theory into lessons for students who are interested. I personally believe that this is a very expressive way of interacting with music and also helps to understand written music on a more intuitive basis. I teach classical and popular styles of music, but I am interested and passionate about all genres, so tell me what you want to learn and we can shape the lessons around it!
