About Yuma
I am a native Japanese speaker and also a language learner, so I truly understand how challenging it can be to learn a new language. This is what inspired me to start teaching Japanese.
Whenever you get stuck with vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, or anything else, I will explain it clearly and patiently at your pace. My lessons are not traditional classroom lessons — they are friendly, relaxed conversations where you can learn natural, practical Japanese with confidence.

I offer Japanese lessons focused on practical expressions that are commonly used in real-life situations.
In a typical lesson, we start with light conversation to build confidence, then focus on useful vocabulary and expressions based on your level and goals. I gently correct mistakes and explain grammar and pronunciation in a clear, simple way so you can use Japanese naturally.
Last year, I had online conversation-based lessons with students learning Japanese at UC Berkeley, which helped me develop a flexible and student-centered teaching style.
I am currently studying abroad in the UK, so I understand the challenges of learning a foreign language. I can explain concepts in English whenever needed, especially for beginners.
