About Annette
I have taught English to a wide range of learners in different settings: adults at community colleges in the UK, young people at a university in Tokyo, and children and teenagers at international schools in Chile and Spain, teaching at both primary and secondary levels. I’m a fully qualified, passionate, and fun teacher who adapts lessons to make learning enjoyable, engaging, and effective. I have experience teaching both in person and online.

Teaching adults: With experience teaching in UK colleges and at a university in Japan, I have over 16 years’ experience teaching adults English as a foreign language using a communicative approach. Lessons are fully personalised, so we can focus on whatever you need: speaking, listening, reading, or writing, while building both fluency and accuracy. As a language learner myself (currently learning Spanish), I understand how valuable it is to have a patient and engaging teacher.
Teaching children and teens: I have experience teaching both primary school children and teenagers at international schools in Chile and Spain. I love helping young learners enjoy English and create lessons that are fun, interactive, and tailored to each child’s needs. For children, I use games and fun activities that complement the British Curriculum, while for teenagers, I design lessons that are relevant, engaging, and build confidence in speaking, listening, reading, and writing. I can also support your child in their English to prepare for their SATS or for their GCSEs.
Whether it’s for you, your teen, or your child, I’m happy to teach lessons online or in person. The first lesson is free, giving us a chance to get to know each other, assess your (or your child’s) level and decide together what to focus on in coming weeks.
