About Robbie
I’m a passionate Social Studies teacher who believes history should feel relevant, engaging, and meaningful for every student. With over five years of experience teaching middle and high school, I’ve worked with a wide range of learners — from students who need extra support to those looking to challenge themselves and deepen their understanding of the world around them.
I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Education with a concentration in Social Studies from Western Oregon University, and I currently teach in Texas, where I align my instruction with TEKS standards and focus on helping students succeed both academically and confidently. My background spans topics from ancient civilizations and world history to U.S. history, government, and current events, allowing me to connect past events to modern issues in ways that resonate with students.
In my teaching and tutoring, I prioritize patience, clear communication, and building strong relationships. I enjoy breaking down complex ideas into simple, understandable steps and helping students discover that they are capable of success. My goal is not only to improve grades and test performance, but also to help students develop critical thinking skills and a genuine curiosity about history and society.

My lessons are designed to be clear, supportive, and tailored to each student’s needs. I start by identifying what the student is currently learning, where they feel stuck, and what their goals are — whether that’s improving grades, preparing for a test, completing a project, or building stronger study habits.
Each session focuses on breaking down complex Social Studies topics into manageable steps using guided discussion, visuals, timelines, and real-world connections. I align lessons with Texas TEKS standards and classroom expectations so students feel more confident participating in class and completing assignments.
During lessons, students can expect:
• Step-by-step explanations of history, government, and geography concepts
• Active review of notes, readings, and assignments
• Practice with primary sources, DBQs, and essay writing
• Test prep strategies for quizzes, exams, and STAAR
• Opportunities to ask questions in a low-pressure environment
• Techniques for organizing information and studying effectively
I believe learning happens best when students feel comfortable and supported, so I create a positive space where mistakes are part of the process. My goal is to help students not only understand the material but also develop confidence and critical thinking skills they can carry into future classes.
