About Shubham

I’m Shubham - an inventor-turned-tutor who helps students truly understand engineering and science, not just memorise it.

Over the past 12+ years, I’ve helped students go from confusion to confidence across subjects like Robotics, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Mechanical Engineering by simplifying complex ideas into concepts that actually make sense.

I hold a Master’s degree in Mechatronics (Gold Medallist, CGPA 9.39) from VIT Vellore and a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering. I am also GATE qualified and a recipient of the Dr. J. Kamdar Award.
Beyond academics, I bring something many professors don’t - real industry experience.

As a robotics and automation engineer, my patented innovations include:
• AI-based system patent (IN 2(concealed information)0)
• Mechanical system patent (IN 2(concealed information)4)
• Electronics and Appliance-based Patent (2(concealed information)6 – under process)

I understand the gap between academic learning and real-world application—and I bridge that gap for my students every day.
This means:
• You don’t just learn formulas
• You understand why they exist and where they are used

Students often tell me that the practical examples and real-life connections I bring into lessons make topics significantly easier—and far more interesting—to grasp.

I’ve taught students across:
GCSE, IB, Edexcel, BTEC, GRE, SAT, MCAT, AP, CBSE, ICSE, A-Level, O-Level, ACT, ATAR, UK Curriculum, USA Curriculum, AUSTRALIAN Curriculum, SINGAPORE Curriculum, Olympiad and College Level and other international curricula.

I’ve also conducted intensive workshops at institutions like VIT and other leading universities, working closely with students at different academic levels.

If you're looking for someone who combines strong academic depth, industry insight, and engaging teaching, you’re in the right place.

Struggling with Engineering concepts? Let’s turn confusion into clarity—step by step.
________________________________________
Furnace-baked examples wrapped up with cheesy facts, loaded with concepts marinated in fun and served with hot explanations.
Yes—that’s exactly what my lessons feel like.
Because just like a great recipe needs the right ingredients, effective learning needs the right approach.
________________________________________
What happens in my lessons?
• Complex topics are broken down into simple, intuitive explanations
• Concepts are linked to real-world applications you see around you
• Sessions are tailored based on your goal:
o Exam preparation
o Concept clarity
o Fast-track revision
o Long-term mastery

My Teaching Approach
I help students feel the science around them—not just study it.
Being both an industry professional and an academic tutor, I bring a perspective that goes beyond textbooks. I use practical, relatable examples that make abstract concepts easier to understand and remember.
And this isn’t just my claim—students consistently say that this approach makes learning:
• More engaging
• Easier to retain
• Actually enjoyable
________________________________________
What to expect in your first lesson:
• Understanding your current level and goals
• A quick dive into a topic (or one of your choice)
• A personalised plan tailored to your needs
• Clear guidance on how we’ll improve your performance
________________________________________
Beyond Just Teaching
I also support students with:
• Exam strategies
• Career guidance
• Interview preparation (where relevant)
________________________________________
A quick note
If you’ve ever felt like science or engineering is “too complicated,” it’s not you—it’s the way it was taught.
Let’s change that.
Engineering doesn’t have to be difficult—when it’s taught the right way.
Book a trial session and experience a different way of learning—one that actually works.
Looking forward to working with you

  • When did you develop an interest in your chosen field and in private tutoring?

My first introduction with robotics backs to the 5th standard when I went to my friend’s house and his father had brought him some very-very nice set of interesting books from abroad which had the art and craft ways of constructing a robot and much more. I was so intrigued with the idea of a robot, that I prepared one similar to the book within a span of a month. Also, cartoons such as dexter's laboratory, Jetsons could also have ignited an early spark. Further, I didn’t know what physics is, in my childhood but would always stay so much amazed with what happens around us and how that happens. Physics is pretty close to my heart and the biggest reason for my interest in science and technology. It is the stream that is totally intuitive as it helps you learn everything via observation added with a little hint of imagination to it. It always has been pretty easy to learn, understand and relate to this subject especially for me. And this had provided me with the ability to induce the same knowledge to the other person with similar ease and in a way, it becomes not a lesson but an experience. Always feels pleasure in solving out mysteries of this subject.

In tutoring, it was during the 7-8th standard that I started coaching my fellow mates with science specifically in an informal manner. And finally started coaching or course making for online classes during the 2nd year of my bachelors in more of a formal manner.
  • Tell us more about the subject you teach, the topics you like to discuss with students (and possibly those you like a little less).

I like to teach robotics, mechanical & electronics subjects to college students as well as science, social studies & maths to school going students. I also sometimes teach some interesting subjects like Astronomy, Astrophysics, Intellectual Property, Career Advice, Business Mentoring, helping out students in the preparation of Lab reports etc. Especially, doing hands-on robotics projects and teaching/nurturing young buds in the field of robotics is really satisfying and fun.

There is nothing I can tell I don’t like as a subject. But I don’t get a satisfactory feeling in teaching those courses which are more dependent on cramming stuff than conceptually understandable.
  • Did you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you?

Well, talking about role models, I don’t think any person can have a bigger role model than the great Albert Einstein. I have been very much inspired by the personality reading, watching about his life, his scientific journey. Talking about live teaching, I opted for tuition in 7th standard where the teaching was just perfect to form that base right. Then progressing to Kota, Rajasthan for IIT coaching gave me a lot of opportunities to be in the aura of few of the greatest and best teachers in the country. During my B.Tech the world was already connected on the web where I could listen to the world's top professors from MIT etc. All this has always motivated me to move forward in the quest for the search of knowledge.
  • What do you think are the qualities required to be a good tutor?

I feel the most important quality of all qualities is adaptability. It is extremely important to closely understand your student and deliver the content based on the absorptivity level, their initial understanding of it, laying a strong foundation of basics, matching his/her pace, various motivations for the student, their vivid interests etc. This way it makes a very easy flow of content and also its retention by the student.

The qualities like flexibility, openness to improve, modify or change the teaching methodologies with time, patience, discipline and dynamism are also important. Other than that, creating a caring, comfortable, positive, warm, friendly & fun learning environment is a must.
  • Provide a valuable anecdote related to your subject or your days at school.

Talking about tutoring, this profession runs heavily in my family with most of the people in the family + the relatives are in the teaching field. One such incident happened at a stage when I was studying in 6th standard. My sister who was studying in 9th standard at that time had a problem understanding some science topics, she had asked that already in the school and upon persistent doubts finally turned to family. Even after repeated attempts when she was not able to get it, I finally broke my silence and spoke 1-2 lines and after that not only she understood the topic but also was satisfied with the explanation. That's the time when my mother told me, you have this gift of making people understand anything with ease. And she pointed it out correctly as I feel tutoring seems more effortless in my case and comes to me with ease and very naturally.
  • What were the difficulties or challenges you faced or still facing in your subject?

I used to sometimes face few difficulties when there is very high-level maths involved in solving the questions. But through these years, now it hardly affects.
  • 7) Do you have a particular passion? Is it teaching in general or an element of the subject or something completely different?

I do have diverse passions which are still connected very much with the same field of technology I work on. I am very much interested in ancient technologies, their unmatched, advanced and futuristic approaches. Being an inventor myself, ancient technologies give me immense inspiration to look into modern-day technologies, draw a contrast between the two and work on the merits of both.

Teaching helps me not only air my inventive ideas to different places around the world but also enables me to help students develop innovative approaches for learning and most importantly, intuitively apply those learnings into the real world.
  • What makes you a Superprof (besides answering this interview questions :-P) ?

The material in my courses is keenly curated in a very flexible manner. So, it is not only applicable for ultra-quick learning just before an exam as well as it is applicable to someone who is in for detailed learning. I believe in creating a personalized and goal-oriented plan for my students. So, I provide them with resourceful and lovely presentations for developing a strong understanding. Also, I help them out in career progression, job interviews and exam preparation as per their specific requirements. I specialize in robotics and that is the reason I am equipped well to teach various inter-disciplinary topics. I am a positive person who cares for his students and makes it a comfortable, warm, friendly & fun learning experience for them.

The feedback from most of my students says that this style of teaching adds fun to their learning activity and closely relatable examples make it quite easy for them to understand the topics. I love coaching students not only because it came into my blood through generations but also because it gives me immense pleasure to share my thoughts, experience and subject knowledge with all of those curious creatures out there.
