About Afoma
Hi! I'm Afoma, a passionate tutor and current A-Level student at the African Leadership Academy, one of Africa's leading schools for young leaders. I know firsthand that subjects like Biology, Chemistry, and Mathematics can feel overwhelming, but I've also learned that with the right guidance, they become far more manageable—and even enjoyable.
What makes me different is that I've recently walked the same path my students are on. I understand the pressure of Cambridge exams, difficult topics, and balancing multiple subjects. Rather than simply teaching students what to memorize, I help them understand why concepts work, allowing them to solve unfamiliar questions with confidence.
I'm patient, approachable, and committed to creating a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. Every lesson is tailored to each student's learning style and goals, whether that's improving grades, preparing for exams, strengthening weak areas, or building confidence in the classroom.

I believe every student is capable of excelling with the right guidance, encouragement, and learning approach. My teaching style focuses on breaking down difficult concepts into simple, easy-to-understand explanations while helping students build confidence and develop strong problem-solving skills rather than just memorizing answers.
As a current A-Level student at the African Leadership Academy with a strong academic background, I understand the challenges students face because I've recently overcome many of them myself. I tailor each lesson to the student's pace, strengths, and areas for improvement, ensuring that every session is both productive and engaging.
I teach in English and can provide support in Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and general study skills. My lessons include concept explanations, worked examples, exam-style practice questions, revision strategies, and tips for succeeding in Cambridge (CAIE) examinations. I also help students develop effective study habits and exam confidence.
Students can expect an interactive and supportive learning environment where no question is too small. I encourage active participation, regular practice, and critical thinking so that students leave each lesson with a deeper understanding of the topic.
