Perfect! The lesson with Jean-Luc was excellent. His approach is to get you speaking right away. In just one lesson, I felt more optimistic about my goals in learning French. He referred me to supplemental material on grammar and vocabulary. This included important French idioms. He is very encouraging and clearly has a teaching method that works. I am very impressed.

Jean-Luc has been a wonderful French teacher for me. He has helped me to develop an expansive vocabulary as well as grammatical understanding of the French language. He is a very patient teacher who is also invested in helping the student succeed. When I went to France, people asked how I had obtained such an authentic accent.
M. Balland is the best French teachers I've ever had, and I've had more than five teachers/ tutors in the past. He is very patient, rigorous on the details and pronounciation, and serious about getting good results.
Jean-Luc teaches in a very direct manner. He's kind and supportive. Lessons are well-structured and supported with visuals.
I have worked with Jean Luc for the past 10 months and have had a great experience with him. He is friendly with different levels of French and can rapidly adjust to your comprehension of the language. He is also highly flexible with scheduling and has worked around my many last-minute changes to lessons. He has also shown me a variety of language learning material, which has allowed me to practice outside of our lessons.
I have been working with Jean-Luc since 2017. When I started with Jean-Luc, I was only a beginner and had a very limited vocabulary. Over the last few years working with Jean-Luc, my level has advanced dramatically. I am now able to understand French at any speed, in any circumstance (this includes watching TV without subtitles), read and comprehend any book or technical text, and discuss any topic with native speakers. I now have several French friends with whom I spend hours/days with speaking only in French! I always wanted to learn a foreign language, but NEVER thought it would be possible as an adult. Jean-Luc helped make it happen! He is extremely personable, kind and patient. He will assess your level and go from there. Please do not hesitate to book language classes with him, he is a wonderful teacher!
