About Agnes
I am a Singapore-based music educator specializing in piano teaching, music education and academic development for musicians. I hold the FRSM in Music Education, together with a Master of Education (MEd) and Bachelor of Music (BMus).
My own professional journey has combined practical piano teaching with postgraduate study, research and academic writing. This gives me a particular interest in helping experienced piano teachers and diploma candidates connect their existing knowledge as musicians and teachers with what they are expected to communicate in formal written work and professional discussion.
Many skilled musicians struggle with higher-level academic requirements, not due to a lack of musical knowledge, but because expressing that knowledge in structured arguments and reflective writing demands different skills.
My aim is to make that process clearer, more manageable and genuinely educational, while helping each candidate retain their own ideas, voice and professional identity.

I provide personalised 1-to-1 online coaching for ARSM and LRSM Teaching Diploma candidates, as well as LRSM Piano Performance candidates preparing their Written Submission.
My approach is practical and candidate-focused. We begin by identifying where you are currently stuck, then work systematically on structure, academic argument, critical thinking, pedagogy, reflective writing, research and viva preparation where relevant.
For LRSM Piano Performance Written Submission, I help candidates develop their own ideas into a clearer, well-supported discussion of repertoire, musical interpretation and performance. Drafts can be reviewed with detailed feedback on structure, argument and academic writing.
Lessons are typically 60 minutes online and can be booked as individual consultations or ongoing coaching.
My aim is not to write the work for you but to help you understand how to think, structure, research and write at diploma level, so that the final submission remains genuinely your own.
This course is suitable for adult learners, piano teachers, and independent diploma candidates in Singapore and internationally.
