About Chloe
I’ve spent over 8 years helping students move from learning the basics to mastering advanced concepts. My lessons always start with a strong grounding in the fundamentals—development, piece coordination, and king safety. Once these are secure, we expand into deeper strategy, exploring pawn breaks, weak squares, and long-term planning. I use real games, both yours and those of masters, to demonstrate concepts in action. Tactics are a constant focus, because even the best plans can fail without sharp calculation skills. I also make sure we address psychological aspects of chess, like handling pressure and recovering from mistakes. Endgame study is built into our routine, ensuring you can finish games with precision. I use chess as a tool to strengthen your analytical skills while improving your results on the board. We begin with structured thinking exercises—evaluating positions, comparing candidate moves, and predicting opponent responses. I encourage you to verbalize your thought process, so I can guide you toward more accurate conclusions. Tactics are used to improve calculation discipline, not just to spot flashy moves. We analyze games to identify decision-making patterns, both good and bad. I teach how to weigh short-term and long-term factors before committing to a move. Strategic concepts are reinforced through repeated application in different positions. Endgame training is also framed analytically, focusing on precise calculation and evaluation. I adapt lesson content to keep your thinking challenged and engaged. Over time, you’ll notice improvements in your ability to think ahead and solve problems under pressure. This method builds both chess strength and mental sharpness you can apply beyond the board.
