About Maddy
I am a passionate educator. My journey started two years ago when I started tutoring my first student, a young woman from Guatemala who needed to learn English. Tutoring her ignited this joy for educating within me. I then began teaching Spanish classes to low-income high school students in the Charleston, SC area to help prepare them for college. My success in that setting inspired me to apply for a prestigious US Fulbright Teaching Assistantship grant, which I won. I am currently finishing up my contract in Madrid! I am so grateful to have finally found my calling. I teach English, Model United Nations, History, and Geography. Teaching Model United Nations has been incredibly fulfilling, especially since I was able to coach my team to semifinals (which is the first time my school has ever made it so far in the competition!). I couldn't get enough of teaching though, so I also started a free English learning program for refugee women in Madrid. I teach the intermediate level class now. Essentially, I am perhaps the most passionate educator you will find here!

I tailor my lessons to my students! We will focus on a subject and spend some time reviewing the skills you would like to acquire. Then, we will do some practice activities. Once I get to know you, I will tailor these to your interests! Then, we will finish off the lesson with an engaging game or fun activity to truly drive the point home! I believe that to truly understand a subject or skill, you must have the opportunity to learn it using multiple methods. My lessons can be tailored to students from the ages of 5-20! I currently teach English, Spanish, Biology, and History to students between all of those ages!
