About Samuel
I'm Sam, a science teacher currently working in London.
I completed my PGCE at Cambridge in 2019 and have been teaching science ever since. I spent a few years teaching abroad in Australia before moving back to the UK so I've had experience teaching students from a whole host of backgrounds with different struggles, problems and needs.
I do my best to make myself approachable and kind, I think it's so important that students aren't afraid to say when they don't understand something - science is hard and no-one should feel worried about saying they are confused. It's my job to explain it better!

I've been teaching KS3 and GCSE science and A-Level Chemistry and Environmental Science for 7 years in schools across the UK.
As a qualified teacher, I understand what students specifically need to know, what the common mistakes are and how to avoid them as well as the key words and phrases exam boards are looking for in an answer.
The best way for students to learn is through clear explanations followed by rigorous practice. I go through lesson by lesson, breaking down the more confusing ideas, going through worked examples with students before giving them the chance to attempt similar problems with me there for guidance.
We look at example answers to exam questions and identify what makes a good answer, we look at mark schemes to further highlight where the top marks are achieved.
My lessons are focused and pacey but with time to break down and explore trickier ideas.
They are normally an hour but I can be flexible with that.
I'm happy to teach any science in KS3 or at GCSE and A level Chemistry.
