About Tim
I am a qualified Teacher of Science, registered with GTCS and a member of the PVG scheme covering both adults and children. I hold a BSc in Mathematics and Physics acquired through The Open University and obtained my PGCE at Canterbury Christ Church University. I completed my NQT (probation) year in Inner London.
I am offering tutoring services at secondary level in Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics as supplementary income to my primary occupation as a Teacher of Physics. I have several years' experience training and mentoring in a professional environment, tutoring students on an apprenticeship course in partnership with a local college, and over 2,000 hours' tutoring experience between Edinburgh and London for science and maths topics.
My schedule is highly flexible and I am available for short- or long-term regular commitments. Tutoring is available exclusively online through Zoom and references are available upon request.

As a fully qualified teacher, I am adept at targeting a student's areas for development through structured reference to exam specifications. I develop relationships with students that foster trust and respect, and am proficient at boosting confidence through highlighting strengths in a student's approach. My extensive experience with subject material allows me to break down topics to the most basic level and expand beyond the course specification to stretch higher attaining students.
