About Anita
I am a BA music student at McGill University and have been trained in classical piano for 17 years. I have given practical as well as theory examinations through Conservstory Canada and have performed in and won many piano festivals in my home province of Manitoba, where I taught privately as well. I have organized and run my own summer music camps where I groomed children with zero piano experience for a small concert within 7 days! I am able to teach and convey musical concepts so quickly due to my teaching methods/practice exercises that I tailor for each student. I am also highly trained in Indian classical music and play the harmonium (French keyboard instrument popular in India) professionally as well.

I start from the basics and break everything down into simple, easily grasped concepts. I teach not only music pieces, but also dexterity, hand position, rhythm counting, and a bit of theory behind what you’re doing. These are all important components of a good piano player and good hand position will make sure your fingers don’t hurt while playing! Whenever the student runs into a problem, I give them exercises/methods tailored to their individual personalities and learning styles. My technique has been proven extremely effective as I have prepared beginner students for concerts, sometimes within a weeks time. Excited to start my work in Montreal, see all the talent out there, and create some fun classes and concerts for my students!
