My approach as a tutor is centered around making math feel understandable, not overwhelming. A typical lesson starts by checking in on what the student already knows and where they feel stuck. From there, I explain the concept in a straightforward way, often using visuals or relatable examples. We then work through problems together step-by-step before gradually moving into independent practice. I always leave time at the end for questions, review, and quick tips or tricks to help reinforce the lesson.
What sets me apart as a tutor is my focus on creating a comfortable, judgment-free space where any student can ask questions without feeling embarrassed. As a future teacher, I’m trained to recognize different learning styles, so I adjust my approach depending on what works best—whether that’s repetition, visuals, or hands-on problem solving. I also prioritize building confidence, because once a student believes they can do math, everything changes.
