About Alysa
I am a future medical applicant student who studies biology, chemistry and mathematics at A-Level. Wanting to study medicine intrigues me as I enjoy the life-long learning and the teaching aspect of it. The sciences are so vast and there is so much to learn about due to new advances in sciences, which makes tutoring feel fun and interesting as there is always new discoveries in our vast world. From my experience tutoring, I find it very satisfying seeing the people I help understand a topic and watching them develop their confidence and passion for the subject which leads them to excel in the sciences. Studying STEM subjects is very important to me and I want to promote the excellence of STEM so students can understand the importance of it in the real world.

My techniques and teaching methodology is going through PowerPoints and notes I have created which enabled me to achieve grade 9s in my subjects. These are created from the exam board specification. Then to consolidate the knowledge, we will complete exam questions together whilst I give tips on how to approach the questions. The typical length of a lesson is 1 hour. I have completed clubs where I help year 12 students on AS-Level content on Biology. For chemistry, I have mentored students at school and helped out with practicals and demos. I have been teaching my sister mathematics since the age of 10 which helped her achieve a top score in 11+ exam and SATs. My lessons are for GCSE level students/students in year 9, year 10, and year 11.
