About Tom
Preparing a PhD in history, I have spent many years abroad during my studies or for my professional project (one Erasmus year in Ireland; several months in Germany, Austria, the Netherlands with English speakers) allowing me to be in complete immersion and to learn English on a daily basis (level C1). In the same time, I had to write more academic texts, and thus use a completely different level of language for this purpose. English lessons can therefore focus on each of these language levels, whether it is with an emphasis on writing, speaking or grammar, or on all of these aspects: it all depends on your requests and what you are looking to improve, learn or review. The level will of course be adapted, and my priority will be to take your particular needs into account. In the same way, it is possible to teach for all levels of study, ranging from beginner to intermediate level (equivalent A1 to B2, level supposed to be reached at the baccalauréat). The course can be a mere lesson, help with homeworks, preparation for exams, help in writing professional documents (e-mail, resumes, etc.) or revisions and reinforcement in classes. In short, it's all about doing what you're looking for.

I try to make my classes as lively as possible! Since learning a language is not just learning lists of irregular verbs by heart, I try to familiarize students with all the situations that could happen to them in an English-speaking environment, both with expression or comprehension, oral and written. In addition to the lessons, I offer training exercises, but also various tips to improve your English on a daily basis. Long-term follow-ups are preferred, even if simple upgrades are just as possible.
