About Diana

A little about Me:

I still remember staring at a blank page, knowing exactly what I wanted to say but having no idea how to say it in English. I was new to the language, new to the country, and the words just would not come. Nobody handed me a shortcut, I had to figure out, slowly, how to think in a new language, write in it, and eventually feel confident enough to build a career around it.

That experience never left me. It is actually why I am here.

I am now completing a Bachelor of Education specializing in secondary English Language Arts, trained in the curriculum and techniques that help students move from stuck to capable. I work with elementary, middle school, and high school students across essay writing, reading comprehension, ESL, and creative writing, and I bring something to those sessions that no textbook can teach: I know exactly what it feels like to sit where my students are sitting.

Whether a student is learning English as a second language, struggling to structure their first real essay, or just trying to find their voice on paper, I have been in that spot. I did not observe it from the outside, I lived it and worked through it.

My lessons are structured, adaptive, and built around each student's actual gaps. I identify what is blocking progress and address it directly, session by session. Confidence and skill develop together, one does not come without the other.

If you have been there too, or you are there right now, this is the right place to start.

Teaching Methodology
Every student learns differently. My approach is fully adaptive, I assess how each student processes language and structure lessons around their specific gaps, whether that's sentence-level grammar, essay organization, reading comprehension, or oral fluency in English. I draw on techniques from structured writing instruction, guided reading, and communicative ESL practice depending on what the student needs that session.

A Typical Lesson
Sessions follow a consistent arc: we open by reviewing what was covered last time to reinforce retention, introduce one new concept or skill with clear explanation and modeling, move into guided practice, then close with direct feedback on what worked and what to target next. Lessons run without wasted time, every segment has a purpose.

What Sets Me Apart
I am completing a Bachelor of Education with a secondary ELA specialization, meaning I am trained in curriculum design, not just subject knowledge. I treat skill-building and confidence as the same problem. Students who struggle with English often disengage because they've accumulated too many unaddressed gaps, I identify those gaps early and close them systematically, so students start producing work they can stand behind.

Who This Is For

- English as a Second Language (ESL)
- Creative writing
