My approach to tutoring is clear, supportive, and tailored to each student’s needs. I focus on building a strong understanding of core concepts first, then work on applying that knowledge through lots of guided practice. I break down complex ideas into simple steps, encourage active problem-solving, and help students build the confidence to tackle questions independently. I also focus on exam techniques — teaching students how to approach different question types and manage their time effectively in exams. I use a combination of worked examples, interactive explanations, and practice questions during lessons. I regularly check understanding with quick questions and mini-reviews to make sure students stay engaged and on track. Lessons are usually 1 hour long. However, I can also offer longer sessions (like 90 minutes) for revision or if a student prefers more in-depth support. I have 2 years of tutoring experience and I’m currently working as a Technology Degree Apprentice at a major bank in a software engineering role. I achieved A grades in Maths, Physics, and Further Maths at AS-Level, which helps me provide strong academic support, particularly for higher-level students.
