About Sore
My passion in Mathematics is demonstrated by my academic record, which is a grade A at A-Level, and volunteering my time to the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Network (STEMNET) at university. One of the biggest challenges in teaching Mathematics is the belief that it is difficult. I work hard to ensure that the themes are accessible to my students. I share my enthusiasm with my students and engage with them to build links across various strands of Mathematics. I achieved a degree in Civil and Structural Engineering (MEng) from the University of Sheffield. This background ensures that I can delve deeper into the real-life applications of Mathematics. I have a strong track record of driving students to achieve and, in some cases, exceed their target grades. I have experience teaching students from Year 7 to 13 and have catered to a range of abilities. I have experience teaching Year 12 and 13 Core Mathematics and Mechanics. I have taught many students who went on to study Medicine, Engineering or the Sciences in Russell Group universities. I have also taught both Higher and Foundation GCSE Maths. I foster an environment where my students are confident asking questions and teach to ensure they have an understanding of the topics. I have also acted as a sixth-form tutor, so I have written UCAS applications and reviewed personal statements.
