About Alec
With 4–5 years of informal tutoring for my peers and 2 years of formal tutoring experience, I’ve worked with students across a broad spectrum of abilities. This experience has helped me develop a flexible approach, easily adapting to each student's level. Whilst the primary focus is on the maths, I ensure to spend time reinforcing the student's confidence in themselves and encouraging independent work outside of lessons to reinforce learning. As a younger tutor, I am a relatable and friendly presence for students. Having completed the new A-level and GCSE exams 1 an 3 years ago, I’m well-versed in the latest curriculum and am fully prepared to teach all topics effectively.

I tailor each lesson to the student's individual needs, starting with the basics of each concept and gradually building up their understanding. I break down complex topics into more manageable parts. Lessons are typically 1–2 hours long, but I am flexible and can adjust the duration based on the student's preferences and needs. I achieved grade 9s in both GCSE Maths and Further Maths. With 2 years of tutoring experience, I have helped students of varying abilities to understand difficult concepts and improve their confidence in maths. I offer tutoring for GCSE Maths and Further Maths students, as well as younger students (Years 7–11) who need help building a strong foundation in maths.
