About Agata
Hello, I’m Agata! I’m a friendly and supportive maths tutor with a background in structural engineering. After completing my Master’s degree and spending six years working as an engineer, I’ve moved into tutoring to share my love of maths and problem solving.
Over the past few months, I’ve been working with a number of GCSE students through weekly online sessions. I focus on helping them build strong foundations, understand core concepts like algebra, fractions and geometry, and develop exam strategies they can rely on under pressure.
Before taking on tutoring more formally, I spent several years mentoring junior engineers in the workplace, supporting them with the mathematical side of real world projects, from calculations and data analysis to modelling and logic based problem solving. I also provided regular one-to-one support for younger students during sixth form to help them prepare for school maths exams.
I’m currently completing a course in maths education with the Open University to deepen my understanding of how students learn and how to adapt my teaching approach to different learning styles. I also regularly volunteer at STEM outreach events, where I give talks to inspire students to consider careers in engineering and show how maths connects to real life.

My lessons are calm, well-paced, and designed around clear, achievable goals. I like to keep sessions varied and focused using 15-minute learning blocks, with plenty of opportunities to talk through reasoning and practise problem-solving. For those preparing for exams, I offer focused sessions using past papers, timing strategies, and exam technique.
I use a mix of teaching tools, visual methods, and real life examples to make topics feel practical and easy to understand. I work with KS3 and GCSE students and I’m familiar with the major UK exam boards.
