About Bushra
I am a qualified Secondary Science teacher specialising in Biology, with QTS and experience teaching science in UK secondary schools.
I have a strong academic background, including two Master's degrees in Biomedical Science and Renewable Energy and Resource Management, as well as a Bachelor of Education. I also have previous teaching experience, giving me experience working with students from different backgrounds and ability levels.
As a teacher, I understand that students learn in different ways. I am particularly confident in breaking complex scientific ideas into smaller, easier-to-understand steps and providing appropriate support and scaffolding where needed.
I am patient, approachable and encouraging, and I aim to create an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. My goal is to help students improve their scientific understanding, confidence and exam technique while working towards their individual academic goals.

My lessons are clear, supportive and tailored to each student's individual needs. I break difficult science concepts into simple, manageable steps and use diagrams, examples, questioning and exam practice to help students build both understanding and confidence.
I teach KS3 Science and GCSE Biology/Science, with particular support for students who find science challenging or need concepts explained in a different way.
Lessons can include:
• Clear explanations of difficult topics
• GCSE exam-style question practice
• Revision and exam preparation
• Help with homework and schoolwork
• Retrieval practice to strengthen knowledge
• Step-by-step support with longer exam questions
• Regular checks for understanding
• Lessons adapted to the student's ability and learning needs
My aim is not simply to help students memorise answers. I want them to understand the science, develop effective exam technique and become more confident working independently.
Before beginning regular lessons, I will discuss the student's current level, areas they find difficult and what they would like to achieve so that lessons can be planned around their needs.
