About Sendil
I’m a dedicated Computer Science student with a strong passion for programming, game development, and problem-solving. Alongside studying Computer Science at City, University of London with a foundation year, I’ve built a lot of hands-on experience in areas that go beyond the standard curriculum. I have several years of practical experience using Unity to create games, experiment with mechanics, build systems, and explore different aspects of game design and development. Through working on my own projects, I’ve developed strong skills in C#, object-oriented programming, debugging, and designing efficient systems — all of which help me explain concepts clearly to students in a way that feels logical and relatable. My background also includes learning Computer Science from GCSE (OCR) through to A-Level, giving me deep familiarity with programming fundamentals, algorithms, data structures, logic, exam techniques, and computational thinking. Because I’ve gone through the same courses many students are studying, I understand the content, the challenges, and the best ways to break down complex ideas into simple, manageable steps. I’m patient, approachable, and genuinely enjoy helping others understand how technology works — whether it’s writing their first lines of code, improving their confidence with Python, or supporting them through exam preparation. I love seeing students go from confused to confident, and my goal is always to make learning Computer Science engaging, clear, and enjoyable.

My lessons are interactive, structured, and shaped by my own experience learning Computer Science at both GCSE (OCR specification) and A-Level. Because I’ve gone through the same content and challenges myself, I understand where students typically struggle — whether it’s understanding algorithms, decoding exam questions, or getting confident with programming — and I tailor my teaching to make these topics clear and approachable. Each session begins with a short recap or discussion of key ideas, just like the structured approach used in GCSE and A-Level Computer Science. This could include algorithmic thinking, computational logic, data representation, or the OCR-style pseudocode conventions. After this, we move into guided practice where students apply concepts through coding tasks, exam-style questions, and problem-solving activities. When teaching programming, I draw on how I learnt Python throughout my GCSE and A-Level courses. I focus on building a solid understanding of core programming constructs before introducing more advanced skills such as object-oriented programming, data structures, and program design techniques. I often include small projects or challenges that mirror the kind of thinking required for NEA-style tasks, helping students develop independence and creativity in their code. Because I’ve experienced the Computer Science journey first-hand, I adapt my teaching style to each student’s pace, confidence level, and goals — whether they’re preparing for OCR exams, learning to code from scratch, or aiming to boost their problem-solving ability. I encourage questions, provide regular feedback, and aim to make lessons supportive, engaging, and genuinely enjoyable. Overall, my lessons combine clarity, structure, and enthusiasm. I want every student to leave feeling more confident, more capable, and more inspired to explore Computer Science further.
